replaced by a new 6 speed transmission from Tremic, similar to the one Jay recently put in his Hemi Challenger. It allows for the car to be much more driveable at highway speeds, due to the lower RPM's. Per has completed all the necessary bodywork and primed the car. Then the entire car was block sanded to take out any slight imperfections, that would show up in the final paint job. Per then shot parts of the car in
The car will be finished in original "Vintage Burgundy", which was the color of Jay's dad's 7-Litre. Cut-in was done to get color on the cowl and door jambs.
 


original 1966 Ford Vintage Burgundy. This is the same color as the car that Jay helped his dad buy in 1966. The cowl, jambs and most of the hard to reach spots were all shot first. Then the entire car was painted and then several coats of clear were applied. Finally, the paintjob was color sanded and then buffed with a polishing compound. The final stage of the paint job was to hand glaze the finish which takes out any
Jay's bodyman Per, gives the finished paint job the "once over".
