I bought the car in 1984. It was ready to go to the crusher, no motor, top was rotted, the body was beat up, and the floors were rusted. I paid the guy $400 for it and we towed it home. He laughed at me when we left. Thought I was an idiot. I found out later he had paid $400 for the car and took the motor out. He called me up three years later, and to finance his divorce, offered the motor to me for $300. It took me 12 years to finish the car. After I got the car done, I drove it to his house - he told me not to bring that car around him anymore - it made him sick to think he got rid of it (I was the one laughing then). I bought a 390 with the correct date codes on it, and bored the motor to standard 428 size. The motor now has Edelbrock heads, Streetmaster intake, TRW forged 10.5 pistons, CJ crank, full roller valvetrain, and Hooker headers. Still has the C-6. Upgraded to 4.11 rear. I rebuilt everything on the car, every nut and bolt has been taken off multiple times, trying to keep it as correct as possible, even kept the 4 piston brakes. I had to buy 6 cars in order to get enough floorpans, doors, etc, to finish the body. I did all the work myself, with the help of a lot of friends. |

Car is in excellent condition. All parts have been replaced with original. New white convertible top and new interior, rebuilt engine, new brakes, new shocks, and tires. Still has the original working radio, but has opted for a newer ipod one. The Emberglo paint is in good shape. Car also has factory A/C.
This car does have a brand new interior, but it should be noted that the car came with parchment interior. White was not available, and new interior is not original pattern. - Editor |

This is an unfortunate find. Built at the L.A. plant as a Nightmist Blue over a blue interior convertible, this original 4 speed car is tough shape. The top is gone, and the interior is completely compromised. The drive train is not present, nor is the front clip. The car had a different clip leaning against it. It has been for sale on the internet for some time. It's demise would make the other 4 speeds that much more rare, but it is a shame to see one end up like this. |

1 of only 2 Convertible 427's ever built. This car has been authenticated as a true 427 car. Color Code blank on Data Tag and verified on inspection at Ford Carlisle 2005. Fully optioned with power convertible top, P/B, P/W, power door locks, convenience group, AM/FM radio with rear speaker, power 6 way driver seat, reclining passenger seat, opt.l ext. color. Sorry, no A/C or P/S with the 427!!!
I saw this car in August of 2007. It was on Display in "Floyd Garrett’s Muscle Car Museum" in Sevierville, TN. It is a fine restoration and has to be considered the highest dollar value 7-Litre in the world, due to condition and rarity. - Editor |
