Clayton Rye This is a special one as it comes to us from Clayton, who is one of the original 7-Litreites. He created one of the frst 7-Litre websites. We are glad to finally have him on the site. As you can see by the Registry number, he is one of the first cars in the 7-Litre Registry. Clayton owns 2 other 7-Litres as well. This car was sold new in Los Angeles where it spent most of its life. When the original owner died, his nephew from Missouri inherited it and drove it to Missouri where it was sold to a man in southern Iowa who advertised it in the Des Moines paper and Clayton bought it from him. It has 75,000 miles on it. The original owner added underdash AC. Since buying t in 1985, it has been repainted, the engine overhauled, new interior, brakes and exhaust. Cast iron headers will be installed in early 2010.It has received a power bucket seat and will get a vintage '66 Ford AM-FM radio.

Garage kept for at least the last 40 years. I purchased last year; previous owner of car had since 1970; have copy of previous title. Car drives and brakes straight and true. Transmission shifts as it should. Engine runs great and smooth, and no smoke during startup or under load. Car has had one older repaint that still shows well. Chrome and trim all original and in nice shape. This is a nice driver. They are only original once! Interior all original including carpet, seat covers, headliner, and door panels. Lights and original radio in working order.

Linda and Owen Kelley We bought the car in 1989 for $1000. The gentleman I bought it from had owned it since the early '70's. It had rusty rear quarters, so I had those replaced and settled on Cayman Green for the color. It was originally Silver Frost with the black vinyl top. I painted it myself. It is an automtic with A.C.,those are it's only options besides the vinyl top. I believe the engine that's in it is the original. I really haven't had to do any mechanical work to it other than brakes and a few other odds and ends. It drives great, although it has been a few years since I have driven it. It is displayed in the Old Car Museum at the Montana State Prison, it has been there for about four years now. I am planning on going and getting it this summer and bringing it home, it needs to be driven.

The Great Carmaker in the Sky

This car was submitted by Scott Smith. He had looked at the car way back when and was smart enough to jot down the VIN. There was heavt damage to both quarters was fixable but back then (1990 or so) there were many such cars around. He thinks this car was scrapped.
