This one comes to us from our new friend Joe Motroni. It was spotted on the way to a car show in Pacifica, CA, near San Francisco. Originally Ivy Green, it now appears to be Silver Frost. The Galaxie is owned by truck driver who's had it in his possession for 15 years. He said the engine was rebuilt when he first got the car. When the engine was started it smoke a little so it looks like it might need some more engine work plus, as the pictures show, quite a bit of other restoration. He also said he has a lot of the trim work and emblems as well as other spare parts for the car.
This was a new find. Thanks Joe-Editor |

Tom Johnson |
Tom transported his 7 Litre hardtop, automatic from Idaho to Colorado in August 2010 to begin restoration. His father was the third owner (purchased from family friends in the early-mid 70's). He drove it regularly until suffering a heart attack and passing away while behind the wheel in 1991 (that's how the body damage happened). Prior to the move, it sat garaged at his mother's house in Idaho. The Engine is being rebuilt an dthe interior has been removed to be redone.
This has been updated. When Tom first registered, he was "planning" on getting the car home. Now it IS home and under restoration -Editor |

Randy purchased in 2017. 142k miles. All original, but needs some restoring. It has factory disc brakes on front, drums on rear, with bucket back seats, and all of the original interior, though some needs replacing. Not the original 428 that came in the car. Buyer was told that the car was having some work done at the dealership. That night the temp went below freezing and caused the block to bust. The dealer replaced the block with a 390 using 428 internal parts. |

Phil Bower had this car apart for 24 years and now just finishing, "well sort of". He bought the car from the original owner Ernie Carthew, ($500.00) a local accountant for the newspaper." I have photos from deconstruction through the final turn of the key, It still need some soft touches, driver door panel redo, trunk detail with jack and spare. Hubcap restoration, just to mention a few things to keep me busy this winter. The odometer reads 932214 and my dad was Mr Carthew's mechanic from day one, so we know that is correct. I get great comments from show lookers, like "my room mate had one of those in college and it was great". Then when I point out that it is a 7 Litre not just a Galaxie 500, I get all sorts of reactions from Huh! to "Wow I haven't seen one of those in years."I love driving and showing the car. It will only get better.

I owned this car for 20 years and was a ongoing restore. The car has been sitting in my garage for 6 years after the engine rebuild. The original transmission was a automatic and I converted it over to a 66 big spline close ratio 4 speed. The motor is a .030 over 427 with medium riser dove aluminum heads and water pump. It has the factory 66 427 exhaust manifolds and 2x4 medium riser intake. The pistons are 10.5 cr with lemans rods. The rockerarms are dove roller. Also 428 scj oiler cooler and 7 quart pan. High lights are am fm factory working radio, factory dual mirrors, and brand new 3.73- 9 inch possie rear. Also nascar rims with new bf goodrich radials |
